Our teachers and students went to South China University of Technology to participate in international conferences

At the invitation of the Chairman of the Committee on Conferences, Prof. Chen Kefu, a professor at the South China University of Technology, more than 30 teachers and students from our school traveled to the South China University of Technology in Guangzhou on November 7-9, 2016 to participate in the Fifth International Symposium on Pulp and Paper New Technologies. 5th ISETPP) and the 3rd International Paper and Environment Conference (3rd IPEC).
   The conference was jointly organized by South China University of Technology, Tianjin University of Science and Technology and Nanjing Forestry University, and was organized by the State Key Laboratory of Pulp and Paper Engineering of South China University of Technology. It is an international conference with higher specifications and larger scale in the field of pulp and paper science and technology. The conference has set up 3 branch venues and arranged nearly 100 high-end academic reports, covering pulp and paper technology, plant fiber chemistry, paper coating, wastewater treatment, printing technology, biomass refining technology and nano-cellulose functional materials, etc. 7 Topics. The conference included 460 papers and more than 500 participants, including more than 30 overseas scholars from the United States, Britain, Canada, Finland, Sweden, Japan, and South Korea.
   During the conference, teachers and students of our school participated in the latest research progress of their respective teams and conducted extensive exchanges with international counterparts. A total of 4 academic reports were presented and more than 20 posters were displayed. Among them, Prof. Yang Guihua was invited to be chaired by the venue. Professor Liu Wenxia gave an academic report entitled “ASA emulsions stabilized nanoparticles: A review”.
   By participating in this international conference, the teachers and students of our school learned and mastered the development of science and technology in the international frontier of pulp and papermaking, and further strengthened the exchanges and cooperation between our teachers and students and international counterparts.
